Hi, I checked everything on youtube and your forums, and UX in tutorials does not align with your current interface.
Do you have any updated resources or plan to update the unreal compatibility or workflow in any regard?
We are in the process of updating our character library to include an Unreal Engine rig - our Root Joint at Origin setting has been removed temporarily. Please upload this character rig to easily bring it into Unreal Engine.
Any idea on when this will be fixed/available? This is why I bought DeepMotion.
The fix to add UE (“root at origin” ) default character to the character library is planned to be released next Tuesday. However if you need it urgently you can import the UE compatible rig we shared earlier in this thread as a custom character and then create animation on this custom character. The result animation will have its root joint at the origin and be compatible with UE/Metahuman retargetting..
Deep Motion Using the female-normal-dmface model didn't work for me. The root option still does not appear. I will wait for the update.
Graeme Kennedy you don’t need the “root at the origin” option if you use the character model attached in this thread because that model already has an extra root at the origin and the exported animation FBX will inherit such root at the origin as well even though you don’t select this option from the UI. The official fix is simply to populate the attached model above into user’s default character library and you choose the root option by choosing the right model instead.
Deep Motion Ah ok, thanks for explaining. I will try it out.
