Opening Position Below Ground

My animation starts out beneath ground, then abruptly moves the the surface. Why, and how do I fix this?

  • Thank you for reporting the issue. It could be a rig issue. Can you upload your custom model for us to inspect ? If it's private you can send the model to support@deepmotion.com together with the problem description for our support team to inspect.

  • Thank you for your reply. I didn't use a custom model, I used your default male. K

  • I'm assuming that there wasn't enough contrast in the video, to inicially define the ground level. What do you think, and do you know how I could fix this in Blender, say? And thanks, Kirk.

    • Kirk Ruebenson See the attached test result of your video generated by https://portal.deepmotion.com/. It worked ok for all default characters and none of the characters sunk into the ground. Are you sure you are not using custom character ( New Animation -> Custom) ? The model in your video recording does look different from our default characters.

  • Sorry, I really don't remember using a custom character, but I guess I did. The pivot was probably in the middle. Anyway, thank you so much for your service, I hope to use it more in the future. Good luck to you!  Thanks again, Kirk.

    • Kirk Ruebenson Thank you for your feedback.  For a custom character you need to make sure the skeleton hierarchy follows our general guideline here.

In general Mixamo character models are pretty good example of humanoid rigs compliant with our guidelines.

Look forward to your future use of Animate 3D.
