The old models are no longer valid?

Hi,

A few months ago I inserted a 3d model of a character, it was recognized by the server and the animation worked correctly. But for about 2 weeks the model has not loaded when I want to import an animation on it, there is only written "Uploading data ..." and it stays like that without any result. The animation is not the problem because on another character model the animation loads on it, but on my old model it does not load

thank you in advance for your help

  • Hi Wares Warels , it seems that we are not able to retrieve the bind pose of your model correctly any more. To help us identify the issue, may I ask what software is this model made from?

    Thanks,

Originally it is a model from Maya, but then I imported it to 3ds max and then I exported it to .fbx

      Ok,

      Hi Wares,

We inspected the model very closely, and the model doesn't meet our custom character requirements: https://forum.deepmotion.com/t/h7hmwhj/animate-3d-custom-character-faq

Though it worked before, but because it doesn't meet our requirement, we no longer support it any more.

However, to help you with the issue, we made some easy fix to the model and here we attach a version that can be uploaded to Animate 3D. We did the following:

      1. Parent Spine joint under the Pelvis

      2. Add Pinky finger joints and name them pinky. It is recommended that you do the same to all the other finger joints, for example, name finger1 to thumb1.

      3. Rebound the rig with the original skin weights

      4. To make it easier for us, we deleted the lower poly mesh

We recommend that you follow our instructions for custom characters next time. We do have some issue on our error display UI right now, but the character not meeting our requirements is the main cause.

Thank you very much for the modification but there is a problem concerning the body of the character, there is a gap between the top (torso) and the bottom of the legs

And when I want to move my legs to put it back in place it doesn't want it to recover itself to its original place

      Hi,

      Sorry to answer that now
Even if the modify model works on the site it is not like the old one that I had to import it's a shame

  • Hi Wares,

I think there maybe several issue here. When trying to import your model into our service, we are able to upload the character and create animation with it. However, the generated animation sink into the ground. While the cause of this is still mysterious to us, we found that import the model into Maya (2019) and re-export it fixes this sinking issue.

Sorry that you are encountering these issues. Could you help us by answering the following questions?

    1. Are you still unable to import the model? Could you try again and let us know?

    2. Which version of Maya are you using?

Also to unblock you, we would like to ask you to try re-export this model with Maya and upload again. We are also happy to send our re-exported version to you. If you would like that, please send us an email at support@deepmotion.com.

Otherwise, will there be a way to import a character in 3ds max Biped format (.bip) onto the site?

    • Wares Warels The .bip file is currently not supported.
