My character is displaying back-to-front. I.e. her back is her chest and vice versa, so that all her limbs bend the wrong way. Do I need to reverse the axes in the fbx file or is it likely a problem with the video I'm using?

Could you check if your model is facing the right way? The model should be facing the front.
That may well have been the problem but I've now tried using an fbx exported from UE4 and it's worked fine. I was previously using one output by Blender.
